An inventory location is a place that holds stock — your own warehouse, a 3PL, a showroom, or a consignment shop. Create a location for each physical place you need to track, then configure how it behaves when people make orders.
Creating a location
Go to Settings → Inventory Locations and click Add location.
- Enter a Location name and pick a Color.
- Optionally add a Location code (for example a GLN or warehouse code used in connector exports).
- Set Location type to Normal unless you specifically need a virtual location.
- Leave Location is active on. Tick Location is default location only if this should be the fallback location for the brand.
- Click Save location.
Tip: You can change most settings later by opening the location from the list. Consignment locations are not created here — they are created when you convert a customer to a consignment profile.
Location types
The type controls whether stock on the location is part of inventory value and accounting.

| Normal | A real stock location. Use this for warehouses, 3PLs, showrooms, and any other place that holds inventory. Stock here is included in inventory value and accounting. |
| Virtual | Tracks quantities without affecting inventory value. Movements do not create inventory accounting entries. Extra warehouses, 3PLs, and showrooms should stay Normal. |
| Consignment | Created automatically when you convert a customer to a consignment profile. You cannot pick this type on the location form. |
Important: Virtual is rarely the right choice. Only choose it if you specifically need stock that is excluded from inventory accounting.
Default location and active status
One location is the brand default. New stock and order lines land there when no other location applies. Marking another location as default clears the default from the current one.
Deactivate a location from the list with Deactivate when you no longer sell or receive into it. Inactive locations stay in history but are hidden from the Active tab. You cannot delete the default location until you set another default first.

Deleting a location
You can delete a location from the list or the location form. Deletion is blocked when the location still has stock, is the default, has pending inventory operations, or — for consignment locations — has uninvoiced consignment sales.
Deactivate the location instead if you need to keep the history.
