Use an order combine group when two or more locations should appear as one quantity when making orders — for example “3 - 4 days” and “13 - 18 days”. Use a display name when a single location should show a friendlier caption, such as “Remotely available (2-3 days extra delivery)”, without changing the warehouse name.
Create an order combine group
Groups are managed from the inventory locations list. This button is visible to admins.
- Go to Settings → Inventory Locations.
- Click Order combine groups.
- Click Add group.
- Enter a Group name. This is the caption buyers see, for example
3 - 4 days. - Choose a Delivery display mode (see below).
- Click Save group.
Delivery display only changes how incoming deliveries are listed under the quantity. The quantity itself stays one combined input either way.
| Mode | What buyers see |
|---|---|
| Combined - one delivery line for the whole group | Incoming deliveries from all locations in the group are merged into one list. |
| Per location - a delivery line per location, quantity stays combined | Incoming deliveries stay split per warehouse. The quantity row is still one number for the group. |
Tip: Name groups after what the buyer should decide on — usually a delivery time, not a warehouse name.
Assign locations to a group
A group does nothing until you assign locations to it. Open each location and set Combine with other locations when making orders to the group.
- Open the location from Settings → Inventory Locations.
- In Combine with other locations when making orders, select the group.
- Click Save location.
- Repeat for every location that should share the same quantity.
On the next new order, those locations become one row captioned with the group name. TRAEDE splits the quantity across the locations when you save.
Deleting a group unassigns its locations. They go back to showing as separate rows.
Display name when making orders
For a location that is not in a group, set Display name when making orders on the location form. Quantity rows use that text instead of the warehouse name. Inventory, shipments, and settings still show the real location name.
Caption precedence:
- Group name, if the location is in an order combine group.
- Display name, if one is set.
- Location name.
Do not put a location in a one-member group just to rename it. Use the display name instead.
Show location color
Tick Show location color when making orders on the location if you want the quantity tinted with the location color. This works with both grouped and ungrouped locations.
