Inventory value report

  • Updated

The Inventory value report shows how much stock you hold in each warehouse and what it's worth, at the start and end of a period. Use it for stock valuation, month-end checks and period comparisons.

Open the report

  1. Go to Inventory → Inventory list.
  2. Click Actions in the top right.
  3. Select Inventory value report.

You need permission to view inventory.

Note: This is not the same as the Inventory report menu item or the Export button on the list.

Choose your options

Option What it does Required
From date Start of the period. Stock is counted as it stood before this day, so movements on this day are part of the change. Yes
To date End of the period. Movements on this day are included. Yes
Use financial value Ticked (default): movements count on the date they were booked financially (the book date). Unticked: movements count on the date the stock physically moved (the stock date). No

The report always covers all warehouses. The location and date filters on the Inventory list are not used.

Generate or export

  • Click Generate! to see the report on screen.
  • Click Export to excel to download it as an Excel file named Inventory value dd_mm_yyyy - dd_mm_yyyy.xlsx.

The Excel file downloads straight away. It is never emailed.

Reading the report

You get one row per warehouse, plus a Totals: row at the bottom.

Column Meaning
Location The warehouse
From date quantity / value Pieces and value at the start of the period
Quantity change / Value change Closing minus opening
To date quantity / value Pieces and value at the end of the period
  • Value is the inventory cost of the goods. It is not the sales price or the wholesale price.
  • Amounts are in your brand's currency.
  • If you use floating goods (goods you already own that are still on the way to you), extra floating columns appear. They only show when Use financial value is ticked and there are floating goods in the period.

Important: Floating goods disappear from the report once they're received. If you run a report for a past period, goods that have arrived since won't show as floating. The figures may differ from a report you ran at the time. Save the Excel file at month-end if you need a fixed record.

Good to know

  • Dates are calendar days in UTC, not Danish time. A movement booked between midnight and 01:00 (winter) or 02:00 (summer) Danish time counts on the previous day. This can move it into the previous month.
  • Locations of type Virtual are left out.
  • Inactive warehouses are hidden if every figure is zero. Active warehouses are always shown.
  • Movements dated before 31 Dec 2021 are counted as 31 Dec 2021.
