A commission policy is the rate and the rules used when a report calculates payout. Every report needs a policy. If the agent or agency has no policy assigned, the policy marked Default is used.
Create a policy
- Go to Settings → Commission Policies.
- Click Add new commission policy.
- Enter a Commission policy name and click Create.
- Set the base rate, options, and rules, then click Save.
Base rate and options
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | Label shown when you assign the policy to an agent or agency. |
| Base commission rate | Percent used when no rule matches the invoice line. Example: 10 means 10%. |
| Exclude fees (shipping, handling fee) from commission payout | When checked, shipping and handling are subtracted so they are not commissioned. |
| Exclude extra-ordinary discounts given from commission payout | When checked, lines where the agent gave more discount than the customer’s normal discount are excluded from payout. |
| Exclude on sale items from commission payout | When checked, lines sold on sale are excluded from payout. |
| Exclude items with employee discounts from commission payout | When checked, employee-discount lines are excluded from payout. |
Excluded amounts show on the report as Total subtracted amount. Payout is calculated on what is left.
Rules
Rules override the base rate for matching lines. Rules are evaluated top to bottom. The first rule that matches a line is used.
- Click Add rule.
- Set who or what the rule applies to. Leave a column empty to mean “any”.
- Set Commission rate for matching lines.
- Drag the handle to change order. Click Save.
| Column | Match when |
|---|---|
| Customer group(s) | The customer belongs to one of the selected groups. |
| Customer(s) | The invoice is for one of the selected customers. |
| Subbrand(s) | The product on the line belongs to one of the selected subbrands. |
| Discount-% from / to | The line’s discount percentage is in this range (inclusive). |
| Commission rate | The rate used for that line instead of the base rate. |
Tip: Put the most specific rules at the top. A rule with no customers, groups, subbrands, or discount range matches every line and will stop later rules from applying.
If an invoice has lines at different rates, the report shows a blended Commission %. You can still override that percentage on the report itself.
Assign a policy to an agent or agency
Agents
- Go to Settings → Users and open the agent.
- Under Agent settings, choose a Commission policy.
- Click Save.
Account managers use the same field under Account manager settings.
Agencies
- Go to Settings → Agencies.
- Edit the agency and set Commission policy.
- Click Save.
On the customer card, the agent or agency row shows which policy will be used. That is the agent’s or agency’s policy — not a separate per-customer rate.
Important: If no policy is assigned and there is no default policy, creating a commission report will fail. Create a policy first.
