Introduction
This guide explains how to create a delivery on a production order that ships directly to a customer instead of first arriving at your warehouse.
This workflow is useful when certain items on a production order should be delivered to the end customer immediately upon arrival from the supplier.
Make sure the sales order is attached
Before creating a customer delivery:
Open your production order.
On the right-hand side, ensure that the sales order you want to deliver is attached.
If you are unfamiliar with attaching sales orders to a production order, see the guide how to create production orders from sales orders.
Create a delivery straight to customer
Click Add new delivery on the production order.
Select Delivery straight to customer.
A list of all attached sales orders will appear.
Select the sales order you want to deliver (e.g., 1016).
Click Create delivery.
TRAEDE will automatically select the products from that sales order.
How the special delivery type works
This type of delivery behaves differently because it triggers downstream processes automatically:
When you click Receive on the delivery note, TRAEDE will show:
The customer’s delivery address
A shipping method
Once you receive this delivery, the system will automatically:
Create a shipment
Complete the shipment (depending on method)
Issue a sales invoice for the order
Using Auto-fulfill to automate the process
If you do not want to manually handle shipments, you can use the Auto-fulfill shipping method.
Set up Auto-fulfill
Go to App store → Shipments.
Under Shipping methods, click Add.
Create a new method:
Name: Autofill
Code type: Autofulfill
Code: auto
Save the shipping method.
This tells TRAEDE that any shipment using this method should immediately complete itself.
What happens when using Auto-fulfill
If you select Autofill as the shipping method on the production delivery note:
Once you click Receive, a shipment is created.
That shipment automatically completes without manual processing.
The sales invoice is issued instantly.
This is the most common setup for customer-direct deliveries.
Using other shipping methods
You can choose another shipping method if:
The supplier should print a freight label
You want to handle the shipment manually
You need logistics tracking via your connected shipping carriers
In that case, simply select the desired method instead of Auto-fulfill.
