Hive is a 3PL fulfillment provider. This integration syncs products, shipments, and inventory between TRAEDE and your Hive warehouses.
Before you start
You need:
- An active Hive account with at least one warehouse configured on Hive's side.
- A Hive Merchant API key. Obtain this from your Hive account.
- The list of warehouse names or IDs that Hive should fulfill your orders from.
Install the app
- Go to App Store in the left menu and open the Hive app.
- Click the Install tab.
- Paste your Hive Merchant API key into the API key field.
- Click Install.
Once installed, TRAEDE automatically fetches the list of warehouses configured on your Hive account. You can view them on the Settings tab.
Map Hive warehouses to TRAEDE inventory locations
This step is mandatory. Until at least one Hive warehouse is mapped to a TRAEDE inventory location, product push, inventory sync, and shipment tracking do nothing. The integration blocks pushes with a clear error until the mapping is in place.
- On the Hive app page, click the Settings tab.
- Under Inventory Location Mapping, click Add mapping.
- In the Traede Inventory Location field, select the TRAEDE location that should receive stock from this Hive warehouse.
- In the Hive Warehouse field, select the corresponding Hive warehouse.
- Repeat for every Hive warehouse you use.
- Click Save settings.
Important: Only variants whose stock lives in a mapped TRAEDE location are visible to the integration. Any location you leave unmapped is ignored, both for push and for inventory sync.
Enable sync features
All sync features are off by default. Turn on only what you need.
Under Sync Options on the Settings tab:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Push shipments to Hive | When a shipment is released in TRAEDE, its order details are sent to Hive so they can pick, pack, and ship it. Turn this on to use Hive for fulfillment. |
| Poll Hive for shipped shipments (delivery notes) | Only shown when Push shipments to Hive is enabled. Use this as a fallback while your Hive account manager registers webhooks. Once webhooks are active, disable it to avoid duplicate imports. |
| Sync inventory (only mapped locations) | Runs nightly. Pulls the current stock levels from every mapped Hive warehouse and updates TRAEDE's inventory to match. Only mapped locations are touched. |
| Push bundle SKUs to Hive (flat SKUs; configure bundles in Hive portal) | See Bundles in the Advanced Hive configuration article for the full workflow. Leave this on unless you have a specific reason to turn it off. |
| Import tracking from date | Only used when polling is enabled. Only Hive shipments created on or after this date are polled. Format: YYYY-MM-DD. |
Click Save settings after making changes.
Set up a Hive shipping method
To send orders to Hive you need at least one shipping method configured for Hive.
- Go to App Store → Shipments and open the shipping methods list.
- Create a new shipping method or edit an existing one.
- Set Code type to Hive.
- In the Hive carrier preference field, enter the carrier label Hive should use — for example
DHL Freight. Ask your Hive account manager for the valid values for your warehouses. - Under Hive B2B shipping type, select Parcel or Pallet. This tells Hive how to route the shipment. Leave empty to default to Parcel.
- Save the shipping method.
