3. Including product images in export

  • Updated

Introduction

Some Excel exports in TRAEDE support adding product and variant images, which can be helpful when sharing inventory or product lists with partners or customers. This guide shows how to include images and what you should be aware of regarding file size and performance.

Adding product images to your export

  1. Go to a list that supports image exports (e.g. Inventory).

  2. Click Export spreadsheet in the top-right corner.

  3. In the export pop-up, scroll to the Image columns:

    • Product image

    • Variant image

  4. Choose the image size you want to include:

    • Small

    • Medium

    • Large

  5. Continue customizing your export fields as needed.

  6. Click Export.

If a product doesn’t have an image uploaded, the field will be empty in the export file.

Performance considerations

Image-heavy exports can be slow

Including many images can significantly increase the time it takes to generate your export. This is because TRAEDE must download and resize each image before inserting it into the Excel file.

Image file size matters

  • You can upload images up to 20 MB each.

  • However, exporting large images across many products can cause delays or even failed exports.

    • Example: Exporting 1,000 products with 20 MB images = 20 GB of data.

  • TRAEDE has a maximum export time limit of 40 minutes. If your export takes longer, it will be cancelled automatically.

Best practices

  • Optimize your image sizes when uploading to TRAEDE (2–5 MB is usually enough).

  • Avoid using large images for high-volume exports.

  • Test with smaller exports first if you are unsure how long it will take.
