Step-by-step: mapping your product import sheet
1. Prepare your import sheet
Make sure your product sheet is ready and saved as a CSV file.
Important: TRAEDE only accepts CSV files — Excel formats like
.xlsxwill not work.
If you need help building the sheet, refer to the previous guide on how to structure the product import file.
2. Navigate to the import page
In TRAEDE, go to the top menu and click Products.
Select Import products from the dropdown. - If you can't find this field, please reach out to support@traede.com
Drag and drop your CSV file into the upload field.
⚠️ Note: Once you upload your file, the system doesn’t confirm upload. You need to proceed manually to the next step.
3. Start the import and map columns
Click Next to begin mapping.
Under Map from, check the box to include column titles.
If you're creating new products, select Create only.
Now you’ll begin mapping the columns from your sheet to TRAEDE fields.
4. Map standard fields
Start with the basics like:
Product name
Item number
SKU
Description
Sales price (wholesale)
Cost price (requires supplier data)
If your TRAEDE account supports product locales, you’ll be able to map product names and descriptions in multiple languages. If not, always choose the default locale.
5. Map attributes (variants)
Attributes define product variations like color, size, and material.
Example of mapping color and size attributes
Select the correct attribute from the dropdown (e.g., Color, Size).
If it's your first import and no attributes exist yet, you can type in the attribute name (e.g.,
Color) and TRAEDE will create it.Ensure consistency between column headers and attribute names.
If you are importing for the first time on a new TRAEDE account, you may need to manually create attribute names during the import.
6. Map pricing and currency fields
Cost price requires:
Supplier
Supplier number
Supplier currency
Sales price is the wholesale price.
Retail price (optional): Suggested retail price for B2C.
You can also define prices for multiple currencies, if relevant.
7. Map other optional fields
Only available in colli: Set to
YesorNoWeight: If using weights, you must also define a Weight type column (e.g., grams or kilograms)
Custom fields: For any extra data
Country of origin
Supplier info (Name, Number, Currency)
Product visibility: Define if the product is visible in connected platforms like WooCommerce or Shopify
8. Finalize and submit
Tick Ignore first rows to avoid importing the column headers.
Click Submit to start the import.
TRAEDE will now begin processing the imported product data using your mapped columns and you will get an email when done uploading.
