Introduction

This guide explains how to configure your TRAEDE account so that gift cards are handled correctly when synchronized to e-conomic.
If you are not familiar with how gift card accounting works, please read the previous article: How to handle the booking of gift cards.

Create a gift card payment account in e-conomic

Before configuring TRAEDE, you must create a dedicated gift card account in e-conomic.
This account functions similarly to other payment provider accounts (e.g., MobilePay, QuickPay), but it represents your gift card liability.

1. Go to your e-conomic chart of accounts.

2. Create a new account named something like Gift cards.

3. Place it under the appropriate balance sheet group (liabilities).

4. Save the account.

Connect the gift card account in TRAEDE

1. Go to App store → e-conomic.

2. Open the Accounting tab.

3. Scroll to the bottom where all payment gateways are listed.

4. Locate the gateway named Gift cards.

5. In the dropdown, select the gift card account you created in e-conomic.

6. Click Save at the top.

Once this is set, TRAEDE will automatically:

• Book gift card sales as liabilities

• Book gift card usage as payments that reduce the liability

• Ensure that no revenue is registered until the gift card is redeemed

No additional setup is required.
