Introduction
B2C shipping methods work differently from B2B shipping methods because the customer chooses the shipping option directly in Shopify or WooCommerce.
For that reason, TRAEDE does not decide which shipping method to use — instead, TRAEDE must receive the customer’s chosen shipping method and then convert it into a System Transport freight code.
This article explains how to:
Create the single required B2C shipping method in TRAEDE
Enable "Pass from remote"
Configure shipping method conversions for Shopify
1. Create the single B2C shipping method
B2C only needs one shipping method in TRAEDE.
Go to App Store → Shipments → Shipping methods.
Click Add shipping method.
Fill in the fields:
Label
Name it something generic like B2C Shipping.
Carrier
Select System Transport.
Code
You may select any System Transport code — or leave it empty.
For B2C, this value is ignored because the real shipping method comes from Shopify.
Order types
Select B2C for all regions.
Pass from remote
This is the most important setting.
✅ Activate “Pass from remote”
This tells TRAEDE:
“Do NOT decide the shipping method. Use the shipping method the customer selected in Shopify/WooCommerce.”
Click Save.
Important
You should never create more than one B2C shipping method.
If set up correctly, this one method handles all B2C orders.
2. Set the default B2C shipping rule
Go to Shipments → Settings → Default Shipping Methods.
Click Add new rule.
Choose:
Order type: B2C
Shipping method: Select the B2C shipping method you just created
Click Save.
This ensures that all imported B2C orders automatically use the correct “pass-through” method.
3. Create Shopify → System Transport conversions
Because the customer selected shipping inside Shopify, TRAEDE must convert that shipping method into a System Transport freight code.
Go to App Store → Shopify → Shopify settings.
Scroll to Shipping method conversions.
Click Add conversion.
Fill in:
From
The shipping method name as it appears in Shopify
(e.g., Business Delivery, Standard International Delivery)
To
The System Transport freight code
(e.g., GLS EVA, GLS Export)
Example conversions:
| Shopify Shipping Name | System Transport Code |
|---|---|
| Business Delivery | GLS EVA |
| Standard International Delivery | GLS Export |
Click Save.
When do you need conversions?
Every time you add a new shipping method in Shopify, you must add a matching conversion in TRAEDE.
If no conversion is added, System Transport will not know which method to use.
4. Special case: If you use Webshipper in Shopify
If Shopify uses Webshipper to provide shipping rates, the conversion process is different.
Please refer to the dedicated Webshipper → System Transport video guide.
Summary
Only one B2C shipping method should exist in TRAEDE.
It must have Pass from remote enabled.
All actual shipping decisions come from Shopify.
You must create shipping method conversions for each Shopify shipping option so System Transport knows which freight code to use.
