17. Cost prices

Introduction

This article explains how cost prices are synchronized from TRAEDE to Shopify. Cost price synchronization works differently from other product data, so this guide will clarify timing, configuration options, and how percentage adjustments can be applied before sending values to Shopify.

This guide is useful for users who rely on accurate cost data for reporting, analytics, or automated advertising setups in Shopify.

Enabling cost price synchronization

To synchronize cost prices from TRAEDE to Shopify:

  1. Go to your Shopify integration settings.

  2. Activate Sync cost prices.

Once activated, TRAEDE will begin sending cost prices automatically.

Cost prices synchronize once per night

Unlike most other product fields, cost prices are only synchronized once every night, at midnight.

This means:

  • When you enable cost price sync, values may not appear immediately in Shopify.

  • Any changes to cost prices in TRAEDE will update in Shopify the next day.

This ensures stable synchronization and avoids rapid cost changes during the day.

Adjusting cost prices by percentage

You can adjust the cost price before sending it to Shopify by applying a percentage increase.

This setting is useful for brands who use Shopify cost prices in:

  • Automated ads

  • Profitability tracking

  • Margin-based bidding tools

Example:

  • Actual landed cost in TRAEDE: €100

  • Percentage adjustment: 10%

  • Cost sent to Shopify: €110

This allows you to be more conservative when Shopify uses cost data in automated calculations.

To adjust cost prices:

  1. Enter a percentage value (e.g. 10)

  2. TRAEDE will add that percentage to the landed cost

  3. The adjusted value will synchronize to Shopify at midnight
