Introduction
This article explains how the sub brand field in TRAEDE synchronizes with the vendor field in Shopify. You will learn how the default vendor works, when TRAEDE sends sub brands to Shopify, and how to disable this synchronization if needed.
This guide is useful for anyone managing product data or working with multi-brand catalogs in a Shopify integration.
How sub brand synchronization works
Sub brand → vendor mapping
In TRAEDE, each product has a sub brand field.
This field synchronizes directly into Shopify’s vendor field.
If a product has a sub brand in TRAEDE → the same value becomes the vendor in Shopify
This ensures that brand information is aligned and consistent across systems
Example:
Sub brand in TRAEDE: NEO
Vendor in Shopify: NEO
Default vendor in Shopify
Shopify allows you to configure a default vendor.
You can find this in Shopify under:
Settings → Products → Default vendor
This default vendor is used only when:
A product does not have a sub brand in TRAEDE
Vendor synchronization is enabled
If the sub brand is empty in TRAEDE, Shopify will apply the default vendor you have set.
How to disable sub brand synchronization
If you do not want TRAEDE to overwrite the vendor in Shopify, you can disable this feature.
To disable:
Go to the App store in TRAEDE
Open your Shopify integration
In the settings, deactivate:
Sync sub brands as vendors
Once disabled:
TRAEDE will no longer push sub brand values into Shopify
You can maintain Shopify vendors manually inside Shopify
