11. Prices

Introduction

This article provides an overview of how prices are handled in TRAEDE and how they are synchronized to Shopify. You will learn how TRAEDE uses retail prices, how sale prices are applied, and why tax settings are important for ensuring correct synchronization.

This guide is relevant for users managing product pricing or operating a Shopify integration.

How price synchronization works

Recommended retail price (RRP)

TRADE uses the field RRP (Recommended Retail Price) as the default price sent to Shopify.

  • RRP = consumer-facing price

  • TRAEDE sends this directly as the Shopify variant price

Example:
If all color variations are set to 400 EUR in TRAEDE, Shopify will also list them at 400 EUR.

Wholesale price

The price shown on the left in TRAEDE is your wholesale price, used only for B2B.
This price is not synchronized to Shopify, since Shopify handles B2C sales only.

Using B2C offer price (sale price)

To put a product variation on sale, TRAEDE uses the field:

  • B2C offer price

When this field is filled out, TRAEDE sends:

  • Price → B2C offer price

  • Compare-at price → Normal RRP

Example:
A variant normally priced at 400 EUR is on sale:

FieldValue
RRP400
B2C offer price300

In Shopify this becomes:

  • Price: 300

  • Compare-at price: 400

This creates the standard Shopify “discount” presentation.

Removing an offer price

To remove a sale and restore the normal RRP:

  1. Bulk edit the variants.

  2. Select B2C offer price.

  3. Remove the value.

  4. Click Update.

All variants will revert to their normal RRP in Shopify.

Prices must include taxes

The RRP in TRAEDE must always be tax-inclusive.

Because:

  • TRAEDE sends the RRP to both Shopify and your wholesalers,

  • Wholesalers expect the RRP to include VAT,

  • Shopify also needs to interpret the RRP consistently.

Therefore, Shopify must be configured to match TRAEDE’s tax model.

In Shopify, enable:

“All prices include tax”

You can find this in Shopify under:

Settings → Taxes

⚠️ If this option is not enabled, price synchronization will break, especially if you also operate B2B through TRAEDE.
