Setup a B2B shipping method for Ongoing

  • Updated

Introduction

This guide explains how to configure shipping methods in TRAEDE for B2B shipments sent to Ongoing WMS. This setup is required for TRAEDE to successfully transmit shipment data to Ongoing.

⚠️ Note: This setup only applies to B2B orders. For B2C, please refer to the B2C shipping method setup guide.

1. Go to Shipping Method Settings

  • Navigate to App StoreShipmentsShipping Methods

  • Click Add Shipping Method

2. Create a Shipping Method

Example: Let’s set up GLS Company Delivery

Field Value
Name GLS Company Delivery
Code Type OngoingImportant!
Code (Must match Ongoing system, e.g. gls_company)
Carrier Select the appropriate carrier (optional)
Active ✅ Check to activate

🔄 Make sure the code matches exactly with what your 3PL or Ongoing has set up in their system. If unsure, request a list of valid codes from your 3PL.

3. Select Applicable Order Types

Choose the regions where this shipping method applies:

  • Domestic – Your local country

  • EU – Countries in the European Union

  • Europe – Countries in Europe but outside the EU (e.g., Norway, Switzerland)

  • Abroad – Countries outside Europe

For example:

  • GLS Company Delivery → Domestic + EU

  • UPS Express → Europe + Abroad

4. Save Your Shipping Method

Repeat the steps above to create all your necessary shipping methods.

Step-by-Step: Set Default Shipping Method Rules

1. Go to Shipping Method Rules

In TRAEDE settings, go to the Shipping Method Rules section.

2. Add Four Rules (One Per Region)

For each of the following combinations, set the default shipping method for B2B:

Region Order Type Default Shipping Method
Domestic B2B GLS Company Delivery
EU B2B GLS Company Delivery
Europe B2B UPS Express
Abroad B2B UPS Express

📝 You can always override the default on individual shipments.

3. Save Your Rules

Click Save to activate your default rules.

Additional Tips

  • Deactivate Old Methods: If a shipping method was created without the Ongoing code type, edit and deactivate it (you can’t delete used methods).

  • Always Use “Ongoing” Code Type: If the code type is missing or incorrect, shipments won’t be sent to Ongoing.

  • Double-Check Codes: Consistency with Ongoing’s codes is essential for integration to work correctly.
