Introduction

This guide will walk you through setting up a basic EDI configuration in Traede. Once the EDI app is installed, you will need to configure global settings that apply to all EDI partners. These settings ensure that product and order data are correctly formatted for EDI communication.

Configuring global EDI settings

  1. Select size and color attributes:

    • If your products have a size attribute, select the appropriate size field.

    • If your products have a color attribute, select the appropriate color field.

  2. Set a default size for products without size variations:

    • Some EDI partners require a default size for products without size attributes.

    • Enter "One Size" or any other agreed-upon term with your EDI partner.

    • If a product does not have a size, Traede will automatically apply this default.

  3. Define required product attributes:

    • Set the country of origin using a custom field.

    • Define the composition of products using a custom field.

    • Assign a tariff code using a custom field.

  4. Configure order reference fields:

    • Create a custom field for order reference on orders.

    • This is required for sales flow so customers can track their own orders when they arrive at the warehouse.

Next Steps

After configuring the global settings, you can proceed with setting up individual EDI partners according to their specific requirements. In the next guide, we will cover how to configure EDI for different partners in Traede.
