Introduction
This article introduces the revenue report in TRAEDE. It covers what the report is used for and how to begin setting it up using the core components: rows, columns, and sections. If you're looking to track revenue, margins, returns, or claims across different products, markets, or segments—this is where to start.
The revenue report helps you understand key financial data, such as:
Total quantity sold
Revenue
Cost of goods sold
Margin
Margin percentage
Returns and claims
💡 For more detailed insights into claims, we recommend using the claims report, which you’ll find under Reports > Claims.
Rows and columns: the foundation of the report
Rows and columns define how your data is structured.
What are rows?
Rows display data vertically (downwards).
Example: If you select Products as a row, the report shows each product listed one below the other.
Steps:
Go to the Rows field.
Select Products.
Click Generate.
You will now see the report split by individual products, with the total values remaining the same but now segmented.
What are columns?
Columns display data horizontally (across).
Example: Add Order type as a column to see a breakdown of each product's performance in B2B vs. B2C.
Steps:
Go to the Columns field.
Select Order type.
Click Generate.
Now the report shows B2B and B2C quantities for each product.
Using sections for deeper analysis
Sections allow further segmentation of your data either within rows or within columns.
Section columns (horizontal segmentation)
Want to see how order types perform across different countries?
Steps:
Add Order type under Columns.
Add Country under Section columns.
Click Generate.
This splits the report by country → then by order type (B2B/B2C) → then by product.
Section rows (vertical segmentation)
Want to see how products perform per color?
Steps:
Add Color under Rows.
Add Product under Section rows.
Click Generate.
This displays each product grouped by color, making it easy to analyze how color affects sales.
Creating a color-size matrix
For traditional apparel reporting, you can build a color-size matrix:
Steps:
Add Color and Product under Rows.
Add Size under Columns.
Click Generate.
This will show size distribution horizontally across products and colors listed vertically.
Segmenting with product categories
Want to see product performance by category?
Steps:
Add Product under Rows.
Add Category under Section rows.
Add Order type under Columns.
Click Generate.
This shows all products grouped by category and split by order type (B2B/B2C).
Displaying multiple measurements
By default, reports may include multiple measurements like:
Total quantity
Revenue
Net revenue
Margin
Cost
When using both rows and columns (a matrix layout), all selected measurements will be shown within the same cell.
Example:
For product “Atom” in B2B, the cell might show:
Quantity: 31
Revenue: 4,322.50 DKK
đź’ˇ If the matrix is too complex, simplify it by disabling measurements until only one is selected.
If no columns are selected
If your report doesn’t use columns, then each measurement will be shown in its own column.
