Receiving a production order delivery when using 3PL

  • Updated

Introduction

This guide explains how to receive a production delivery note in TRAEDE when working with a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics provider) integrated into your system. This is the correct flow when your warehouse is outsourced and connected to TRAEDE (e.g., Prime Cargo, Ongoing WMS, or System Transport).

If your warehouse is not integrated, or you manage your own warehouse, please refer to the next guide on manual receiving.

Step 1: Open your production delivery

  1. Go to your production order.

  2. Click into the next delivery you want to receive.

  3. You will see a button in the top-right corner like:

    • Push to Prime Cargo
(or another provider depending on your integration)

Step 2: Push the delivery to your 3PL

  1. Before the goods arrive at the warehouse, push the delivery to your 3PL.

  2. Click the button: Push to [3PL name].

  3. Then click Send to [3PL name] to confirm.

⚠️ Do not use the Receive button — this is only for users without warehouse integration.

📦 Your 3PL needs this info before goods arrive so they know what to expect and can properly receive them.

Step 3: The 3PL receives and updates TRAEDE

  • The warehouse will receive the goods in their own system.

  • Once received, the 3PL will send the confirmation back to TRAEDE.

  • The system will automatically:

    • Mark the delivery as received

    • Update quantities (based on what was actually delivered)

📝 For example, if 10 pieces were expected but only 9 arrived, the warehouse will adjust the received quantity before finalizing.

Step 4: Check inventory updates

  1. Go to your Inventory list.

  2. Search for the relevant item number.

  3. You will see that the stock has increased based on the received delivery.

Step 5: Review production order status

  1. Go back to the production order.

  2. You will now see that the order is marked as Partially received if additional deliveries are still pending.

✅ This flow ensures that product stock is updated correctly and that all deliveries are tracked through TRAEDE automatically.
