How to configure bundle variants using the product importer

  • Updated

Introduction

This guide explains how to set up bundle variants using the product importer in TRAEDE. Instead of manually editing each bundle variant, you can use the importer to efficiently define bundles by referencing other SKUs and their quantities. This is especially useful when working with many bundle configurations at once.

📝 Important: Before starting, we highly recommend that you export your product list as a backup. This allows you to restore your original data if anything goes wrong during the import process.

Setting up bundles with the product importer

Step 1: Prepare your product and components

Before importing:

  • Ensure that both the bundle variant and its component variants already exist in TRAEDE.

  • You will need:

    • Item number of the bundle product

    • SKU of the bundle variant

    • SKUs of each component (with quantity)

Step 2: Understand the bundle syntax

In your import file:

  • Use the bundle column to define the components

  • Each bundle value should follow this format:

[SKU1]:[quantity],[SKU2]:[quantity],[SKU3]:[quantity]

Example:

sku-37:2,sku-38:3,sku-39:1

This defines a bundle variant that includes:

  • 2 × Size 37 (black)

  • 3 × Size 38 (black)

  • 1 × Size 39 (black)

Step 3: Add your data to the product importer

  1. Go to Settings > Product Importer

  2. Upload your file (CSV or Excel)

  3. Map the following columns:

    • Item number

    • SKU

    • Bundle

Step 4: Complete the import

Once your columns are mapped:

  • Click Submit

  • TRAEDE will automatically configure the bundle relationship on the specified SKU

Step 5: Confirm the bundle setup

  1. Return to the product page

  2. Click Refresh

  3. You will now see the bundle contents displayed for that SKU
