Custom fields

  • Updated

Introduction

This article explains how to update custom fields on products using the product importer in TRAEDE. You can update one or multiple custom fields at once, and you only need to include the fields you want to change. This allows for quick bulk updates of values such as Composition, HS Tariff Code, or Country of Origin.

Updating custom fields via the product importer

Where custom fields appear

Custom fields on products are found under Master data within each product.
Examples of common custom fields include:

  • Composition / Material

  • Country of origin

  • HS Tariff Code

Prepare your import file

You can update any number of custom fields, and you do not need to include all existing custom fields—only those you want to update.

Your import file must include at least:

  • Item number

  • SKU

TRAeDE uses these to match the correct product and variant.

Naming the custom field columns

The column header does not need to match the custom field name in TRAEDE.

Examples of valid column names:

TRAEDE fieldPossible import headers
Tariff codeTariff, HF code, TCode
CompositionComp, Materials, Cmp
Country of originCO, Origin, COO

TRAeDE maps values based on the custom field setup—not the column title.

Add the values you want to update

Under each custom field column, enter the values to update.
Example:

  • Tariff code → “62044300”

  • Composition → “100% Cotton”

  • Country of origin → “CN”

You can update one field or multiple at the same time.

If you only want to update one field (e.g., tariff code), your file may contain:

  • Item number

  • SKU

  • Tariff field only

The importer ignores missing custom fields and leaves them unchanged.

Example: Update only one custom field

If you want to update only the HS tariff code, your file can look like this:

Item numberSKUHF code

This is enough for TRAEDE to update the values.

Import the file

  1. Go to Settings → Import → Product importer.

  2. Upload your file.

  3. Map fields if requested.

  4. Confirm and run the import.

TRAEDE will update only the custom fields included in your file and leave all others untouched.

Summary

  • You only need Item number + SKU + the custom fields you want to update.

  • Column headers do not need to match the custom field names in TRAEDE.

  • You can update one or several custom fields at once.

  • Unincluded custom fields remain unchanged.
