Introduction
This article shows you how to convert a Webshipper shipping rate into a 3PL shipping code in TRAEDE.
Typical scenario:
Your B2C shipping method in Shopify is called “DHL Express”, but your 3PL only understands an internal shipping code (for example 25407). Using shipping rate conversions in TRAEDE, you can map the Webshipper shipping rate ID to the correct 3PL code.
You’ll learn:
Where to create shipping rate conversions in TRAEDE
How to find the correct Webshipper shipping rate ID
How to map that ID to your 3PL shipping code
How to troubleshoot if orders arrive at the 3PL with the wrong shipping code
Step 1 – Open shipping rate conversions in TRAEDE
In TRAEDE, go to App store.
Find and select the Webshipper app.
In the Webshipper app, locate the section “Shipping rate conversions”.
Click Add new conversion.
You’ll see a simple form with two fields:
From
To
The From field will contain the Webshipper shipping rate ID.
The To field will contain the shipping code that your 3PL understands.
Step 2 – Find the Webshipper shipping rate ID
Next, you need to find the shipping rate ID in Webshipper that corresponds to your B2C shipping method (e.g. DHL Express).
Log in to Webshipper.
Go to Settings and open the section where your order system / order channel is configured.
Example: choose the order system “TRAEDE B2C Shopify”.
In the order system, locate the list of shipping methods (shipping rates).
Click the shipping rate you want to map, for example the one representing DHL Express.
Look at the address bar (URL) in your browser.
The URL will contain something like:
…/shipping_rates/5
The number at the end (in this example, 5) is the Webshipper shipping rate ID.
Write this number down – you will need it for the From field in TRAEDE.
Step 3 – Enter the Webshipper ID in the “From” field
Go back to TRAEDE, to the Webshipper shipping rate conversions screen.
In the From field, enter the Webshipper shipping rate ID you found in the URL.
In our example, this is
5.
Conceptually, this means:
“Whenever an order in Webshop / Shopify uses the shipping rate with ID 5, we want to convert it…”
Example:
Shipping method name in Shopify: DHL Express
Webshipper shipping rate ID: 5
From in TRAEDE:
5
Step 4 – Get the correct 3PL shipping code
Now you need the shipping code used by your 3PL (for example, Prime Cargo).
This is not something TRAEDE or Webshipper decides.
Your 3PL typically provides an Excel sheet or overview of all your shipping codes.
Do the following:
Ask your 3PL for the list of shipping codes (if you don’t already have it).
Find the line that matches your shipping method (e.g. DHL Express).
Note the corresponding shipping code, for example
25407.
This is the value you will put in the To field.
Step 5 – Enter the 3PL code in the “To” field
Back in TRAEDE:
In the To field, enter the 3PL shipping code.
In the example from the video, this is
25407.
Your conversion now looks like:
From:
5(Webshipper shipping rate ID for DHL Express)To:
25407(3PL shipping code for DHL Express)
Interpretation:
“When an order has shipping rate ID 5 in Webshipper, TRAEDE will convert this to shipping code 25407 before sending it to the 3PL.”
Step 6 – How the conversion works on real orders
Let’s put it all together with the DHL Express example:
A customer places an order in Shopify and chooses “DHL Express”.
Shopify sends the order to Webshipper.
Webshipper attaches the shipping rate ID 5 (the one you looked up) to the order.
The order is imported into TRAEDE with shipping rate ID 5.
Because you created a shipping rate conversion:
TRAEDE sees From = 5
TRAEDE converts it to To = 25407
When TRAEDE sends the order to your 3PL, the order now has shipping code 25407, which your 3PL understands as DHL Express.
Troubleshooting – wrong shipping code at the 3PL
If an order arrives at your 3PL with the wrong shipping code, check the following:
1. Did you create a shipping rate conversion?
Go to TRAEDE → App store → Webshipper → Shipping rate conversions.
Verify that a conversion exists for the shipping method in question.
If no conversion exists, TRAEDE cannot translate the Webshipper ID to a 3PL code.
2. Does the “From” value match the Webshipper shipping rate ID?
Re-check the shipping rate in Webshipper.
Open the shipping method and look at the URL again.
Confirm that the ID (for example
/shipping_rates/5) matches the From field in TRAEDE.
If Webshipper uses ID 5, but you typed 4 in TRAEDE, the wrong shipping conversions will be applied (or none at all).
3. Does the “To” value match the correct 3PL code?
Even if the From ID is correct, the To code can still be wrong.
Example problem:
In Webshipper, shipping rate ID 5 is DHL Express.
Correct 3PL code for DHL Express:
25407.By mistake, you enter
25410in the To field (which might be a code for GLS).
Result:
Whenever a customer chooses DHL Express in Shopify, the order is imported with shipping rate ID 5.
TRAEDE converts it to 25410 instead of
25407.Your 3PL receives the order and treats it as GLS, not DHL Express.
So, always double-check:
The From number = Webshipper shipping rate ID
The To number = 3PL shipping code from your 3PL’s official list
