Introduction
This guide explains how to set up default shipping methods in TRAEDE. The default shipping method determines which option is pre-selected when you create a shipment, and it is also the method used automatically when performing auto ship.
Default rules help ensure that the correct shipping method is chosen based on order type, region, or even specific customers.
Create default rules for shipping methods
Go to your shipping settings in TRAEDE.
Scroll to the Default shipping methods section.
Here you can create rules that define which shipping method should be selected automatically.
Example: Set different defaults for B2B and B2C
You can configure simple rules based on the order type:
All B2B orders → GLS
All B2C orders → MyShipment
TRAEDE will always use the most specific rule, meaning that rules with more conditions have higher priority.
Create more specific rules (regions, exceptions)
You can expand a rule by adding more filters, such as region.
Example:
B2B orders → GLS
B2B orders abroad → DHL Express
Steps:
Click Add rule.
Select Order type: B2B.
Select Region: Abroad.
Set Default shipping method: DHL Express.
Because this rule contains two data points (order type + region), it overrides the broader B2B rule.
Override shipping method per customer
You can also create rules for specific customers, useful when certain partners or stores require their own shipping method.
Example:
Customer: Store A → Shipping method: DHL Express
Steps:
Add a new rule.
Select Customer.
Choose the customer.
Select the desired shipping method.
Save.
Overriding the shipping method manually
Even with default rules:
You can always change the shipping method manually when creating a shipment.
This applies only to that specific shipment and does not affect your rules.
