When a launch event starts, Traede writes offer prices onto the products in the event. When it ends, those offer prices are removed again. This article explains exactly what changes, what you can still edit while an event is running, and how events end.
What happens when an event starts
Traede checks every minute for events that have reached their start date. When an event starts, each product in the event gets an offer price in the currencies you filled in — the B2B offer price for B2B discounts and the B2C offer price for B2C discounts. The offer price is either the launch price you entered, or the current price reduced by your discount percentage.
The normal sales prices are never changed. Anywhere in Traede that shows offer prices — including your B2B webshop — picks up the discount automatically.
Important: If a product already has a manually set offer price, the launch event overwrites it — and when the event ends, the offer price is removed entirely. The original manual offer price is not restored.
Event statuses
The launch events list shows each event's status, and running events show a progress bar while their prices are being applied:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not started | Waiting for its start date. Fully editable. |
| Being started | Offer prices are being applied in the background. The event cannot be edited. |
| Started | Running. Discounts are live. Limited editing (see below). |
| Being terminated | Offer prices are being removed in the background. The event cannot be edited. |
| Ended | Finished. Read-only — an ended event cannot be restarted. |
Editing a running event
While an event is running you can still:
- Change the end date — extend or shorten the event.
- Add products — new individual products with their own discounts. Their offer prices are applied right away. Groups, drops, collections, categories, subbrands, and custom fields cannot be added while the event runs.
- Remove products — their offer prices are removed right away. To change a running product's discount, remove the product and add it again with the new discount.
Everything else — the title, start date, currencies, and existing discount values — is locked once the event has started.
Note: Products added to a group, drop, collection, or category after the event has started are not discounted automatically. Add them to the event as individual products instead.
What happens when an event ends
The event ends automatically at its end date, removing the offer prices it applied. If it has no end date, it runs until you stop it manually.
If another running launch event covers some of the same products, those products fall back to the other event's discounts instead of returning to full price.
Stopping an event manually
- Open the event from Products → Launch events.
- Click Stop event.
- Confirm. The offer prices are removed in the background.
Important: A stopped or ended event cannot be restarted. To run the same sale again, clone it instead.
Cloning an event
Cloning copies all settings and discounts of an event into a new one — handy for recurring sales or for reusing an ended event's setup:
- Open the event and click Clone.
- Adjust the Title and pick a new Start date (and optionally an End date).
- Click Clone. The new event opens, ready to edit.
