How Production Orders Allocate Stock in Reservations V4

  • Updated

NOTE: This functionality is only available when using the new Reservations module (Reservations V4). If you are not using Reservations V4 and are interested in enabling it, please contact support@traede.com.

In the new Reservations module, you can define the allocation behavior per individual production order by selecting one of the following options:

  • Normal (Make to Stock)

  • Make to Order

Definitions

Normal (Make to Stock)
Sales orders are allocated using standard ATP allocation. This is the default allocation behavior in Traede.
Stock from the production order is not reserved for specific sales orders. Sales orders allocate from available stock as usual, regardless of the production order.

Make to Order
Traede prioritizes allocation from this production order to the sales orders attached to it before allocating stock to other sales orders.

Before Reservations V4, this behavior was controlled by a global default setting called “Auto prioritize attached orders to POs”, which applied to all production orders. With Reservations V4, this can now be configured per production order.

Example

  • You have:

    • 10 units in stock

    • 10 units in production

    • A sales order for 10 units from a retailer

  • The production order was created based on this sales order and the sales order is attached to the production order.

If the production order is set to Normal (Make to Stock)
The sales order allocates the 10 units from available stock as usual, even though a production order exists.

If the production order is set to Make to Order
The sales order allocates the 10 units from the production order. The 10 units currently in stock remain available for sale to other orders.
