How to add new claim causes to your return portal

  • Updated

Introduction

This guide explains how to create and assign new claim causes to your return portal in TRAEDE. Claim causes help structure the return process by allowing you to specify reasons like "too small", "too big", or other custom issues. You can also configure each cause with different requirements such as mandatory

📝 Step-by-step guide

1. Create new claim causes

  • From the TRAEDE dashboard, go to Settings > Claims.

  • Click Add new cause in the top right corner.

Fill out the claim cause fields:

  • Code: Only necessary if you're using an external warehouse. If not, you can enter any identifier (e.g., 01).

  • Description: Internal name displayed in your TRAEDE backend. Example: Too small, Too big, Damaged etc.

You can add multiple claim causes at once if needed.

2. Assign claim causes to your return portal

  • Go to Settings > Return portals.

  • Find the relevant portal and click Edit.

  • Scroll to Claim causes and click Add new claim cause.

Configure claim cause settings:

  • Claim cause: Select one of the claim causes you previously created.

  • Description: This is the text shown to your customers in the return portal (can be language-specific, e.g., English and Danish versions of the same cause).

Example:

  • Internal cause: Too small

  • Customer-facing description: For lille (DK) / Too small (EN)

3. Optional settings

You can enable one or more of the following options per claim cause:

  • Require comment: The customer must write a comment when selecting this cause (commonly used for damages or specific issues).

  • Require approval: The return must be manually approved before a label is sent.

  • Require image upload: The customer must upload an image showing the issue with the product (commonly used for damages or specific issues).

4. Save changes

  • After setting up the claim cause and its options, click Save.

Your new claim causes are now active and visible in the selected return portal(s).
