Mapping your product import sheet

  • Updated

Introduction

This guide explains how to map the columns of your product import sheet (CSV from Excel or Google Sheets) to the TRA EDE product importer.
Before reading this guide, make sure your product sheet is correctly prepared. If not, see the earlier guides on how to structure your product sheet.

Upload your CSV file

  1. Go to Products in the top navigation.

  2. Select Import products.

  3. Prepare your import sheet as a CSV file (not Excel format).

  4. Drag and drop your CSV file into the upload box.

After uploading, the screen will reset visually—this means your file was accepted.
You can now click Next to begin mapping your columns.

Start column mapping

You will now see two sections:

  • Column titles (from your CSV)

  • Map to (TRA EDE fields)

If you are importing new products, choose Only create under import type.

Then begin mapping each of your columns.

Map product name

  • Select Product name from the dropdown.

  • If your TRAEDE account uses product locales, you will see options like Default, English, Danish, etc.

  • If you don’t use locales, always select Default.

Map SKUs, item numbers, and attributes

SKU

  • Map your SKU column to SKU.

Item number

  • Map the product’s item number (shared across all variants) to Item number.

Attributes (e.g., color, size, material)

For attribute columns such as Color, Size, Fit, Material, etc.:

  1. Choose Attribute.

  2. A second dropdown appears where you select which attribute it belongs to.

If your TRAEDE account already has attribute sets, the dropdown will contain existing options (e.g., Color, Size).

Importing attributes on a new account

If this is your first product import and no attributes exist yet:

  • Simply type the attribute name (e.g., Color) into the field.

  • Click Create option to generate the attribute.

Map prices

Cost price

To import cost prices, your file must also include:

  • Supplier

  • Supplier number

  • Supplier currency

Without these, the cost price import will fail.

Sales prices

You can map:

  • Wholesale price

  • Recommended retail price (RRP)

  • B2C price

  • Prices for other currencies if supported on your account.

Map size range (optional)

If you use size ranges (e.g., XS–XL) rather than individual sizes:

  • Map your size range column to Size range.

  • Make sure values contain no spaces to ensure compatibility (e.g., “XS-XL”, not “XS - XL”).

You can also choose whether products can only be ordered in full color packs.

Map weight (optional)

If you import weight:

  • Map to Weight.

  • If you use a unit other than grams, add a column called Weight type and map it accordingly.

Without a weight type, TRAEDE will assume the value is in grams.

Map customs fields

You can map:

  • Tariff code

  • Country of origin

  • Any other custom fields you have created.

Map supplier information

To attach a product to its supplier, map:

  • Supplier number

  • Supplier name

  • Supplier currency

This is required if you want to import cost prices or set supplier relationships.

Map shop availability

If you use integrated B2C platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, Nuu-muus, etc.):

  • Map the Available on B2C column.

  • This is usually a simple Yes/No value.

Complete the import

When all fields are mapped:

  1. Enable Ignore first row (to skip the column titles).

  2. Click Submit.

TRAEDE will now validate and import all products and variants based on your mapping.
