Introduction
This article explains how to configure Shopify Markets inside TRAEDE so you can synchronize localized prices and translations to each market. Before setting up markets, it is important that TRAEDE has permission to read your Shopify Markets configuration. If your TRAEDE installation is older, you may need to re-authenticate the connection first.
How to configure Shopify Markets
Step 1: Re-authenticate TRAEDE (if needed)
Before configuring markets, TRAEDE must have access to your Shopify Markets settings.
Go to App store → Shopify in TRAEDE.
Click Re-authenticate.
Approve the updated permissions in Shopify.
This ensures that TRAEDE can read and update market configurations.
Step 2: Open Shopify Markets setup in TRAEDE
Go to App store → Shopify.
Click Edit on your Shopify store installation.
Click Shopify markets.
This opens the dedicated markets configuration area.
Step 3: Create a market mapping
Click Add new market.
Select the Shopify market you want to configure (e.g., Denmark).
Choose the currency that should be used for price synchronization.
Select the language for that market (e.g., Danish).
Step 4: Choose TRAEDE product locales (optional)
If you use TRAEDE’s built-in translation features:
Assign which product locale should be synchronized to that Shopify Market.
Optionally enable fall back to default if a translation is missing.
Example:
Product locale:
da-DKFallback: enabled
This means TRAEDE will attempt to send Danish translations, and if they do not exist, will fall back to your default product language.
Step 5: Enable price and/or translation synchronization
You can choose to synchronize either prices, translations, or both.
Sync market prices → sends localized market prices
Sync market translations → sends product translations
You may enable one or both depending on your configuration.
Examples:
Only sync translations
Only sync prices
Sync both (most common)
Step 6: Save your configuration
Click Save inside the market configuration window.
Click Save at the top of the Shopify app settings page.
When the market tile is blue, your configuration is active.
Result
Your Shopify Markets are now configured. TRAEDE will automatically:
Synchronize localized prices to each market
Synchronize product translations (if enabled)
Push this data to all connected Shopify stores using Shopify Markets
This ensures your international customers receive correct pricing and localized product content.
